Lakshadweep Information and Tourist Places
Lakshadweep is the smallest union territory of India, is a group of islands 200 to 300 km off of the coast of Kerala in the Arabian Sea. Lakshadweep is the northern part of the erstwhile Lakshadweepa. The Lakshadweep islands are linked to the mainland by ships & passenger planes. Agatti Island and Bangaram Island can be reached by Air and the others by ship from Kochi.

Crescent shaped island has one of the largest lagoons in the region. It has a typical Maldivian character.

Kalpeni: The scenic islet is uninhabited but has a huge shallow lagoon. Kalpeni is a group of three small islands and is considered as one of the most exquisite and impressing islands of Lakshadweep.

Food items:

Lakshadweep is a cluster of islands that are not only separated from each other but also from the mainland. The diet of the islanders is heavily fish-centered. The culinary influence of Kerala is quite evident in the cuisines of Lakshadweep. The local food of Lakshadweep primarily comprises of coconut and sea fish.
