Channa Sundal Recipe
4 cups Chana
4 tsp Oil
4 tsp Mustard Seeds
4 Red Chilies
6 Curry Leaves
½ tsp Hing
6 Green Chilies
1 cup grated Coconut
Salt to taste
Channa Sundal Preparation:
Take 4 cups of channa and soak in water overnight. The next day drain soaked water and add fresh water and cook until soft, then remove excess water from cooked channa.
In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, red chilies, asafetida, curry leaves, green chilies then add cooked channa and salt as per taste and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
Then add grated coconut to the channa in a pan and mix it well and turn off the flame. Hot and spicy sundal is ready to serve.
This Sundal is served when people visit their friends homes to see the Bommai Kolus or doll displays during Navrathri festival.
