Khajuraho Dance Festival is a weeklong dance festival held in the months of February and March in Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh organized by the state of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department in an open-air auditorium in front of the Chitragupta Temple dedicated to the Sun God and the Vishwanatha Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Most of the prominent artists participate in this khajuraho dance festival with many classical dances like Kathakali, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Bharathanatyam and Manipuri. Today, even modern Indian dances are also performed in this Khajuraho Dance festival. The dances are performed with beautiful backdrop of the Khajuraho sculptures on the shimmering venue and the artists are honored for their performances.
