Senagala Guggillu
Ingredients to Prepare Senagala Guggillu:
Bengal Gram or Kala Chana or Senagalu | 2 Cup |
Grated Coconut | 1/2 Cup |
Split Black Gram or Udad Dal | 2 table spoon |
Mustard Seeds | 1 tea spoon |
Red Chillies | 4 |
Curry Leaves | 5 or 6 |
Ground nut Oil | 4 tea spoon |
Asafoetida or Hing | A Pinch |
Salt | to Taste |
Senagala Guggillu preparation method :
In a large vessel, soak the Bengal Gram or Kala Chana in atleast 5 Cups of water for overnight.
Drain the water and add 4 Cups of fresh water and 1 tea spoon salt. Pressure cook for 2
whistles( do not overcook the chana ).
Drain the water completely and set aside.
Heat Ground nut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and wait till they splutter. Add udad dal and fry till it is golden brown.
Now reduce the heat and add split red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida. Then add the Kala Chana, grated coconut and salt, if required.
Stir-fry for a couple of minutes. Turn off the heat.
