Sri Chaya Someshwaralaya Temple
There are two famous Shiva temples, Chaya Someswara Swamy temple and Pachala Someswara temple.
Sri Chaya Someshwara Swamy Temple is located at Panagal, Nalgonda district, Telangana. Chaya Someshwaralayam is also known as Thrikutalayam.
Sri chaya someshwaralayam is the unique temple, where the shadow – Chaya falls inside the garbagudi, No one knows from where it effects.
The Shiva Lingam of Chaya Someswara temple is, when daylight is present, straddled by a permanent shadow of a pillar. In Telugu Chaya means Shadow. The shadow is constant and visible from sunrise to sunset everyday. The construction of this temple is marvellous which features such exceptional sight.
The pillars of the temple are decorated in great detail with relief sculpture of episodes from the two great Epics of India, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
