Tripura is a state in North-East India. Tripura is surrounded by Bangladesh on the north, south, and west. The Indian states of Assam and Mizoram lie to the east. Agartala is the capital of Tripura. The main languages spoken are Bengali and Kokborok. Agriculture is the main occupation and rice, the main crop. Tripura is also the second highest rubber-producing state in India after Kerala.
Tripura is strategically situated between the river valleys of Myanmar and Bangladesh. Encircled almost on three sides by Bangladesh, it is linked with Assam and Mizoram in the North-East.

Mata Tripureswari Temple:
This temple is one of the 51 pithasthans in India as per Hindu mythology. As per mythology, Lord Vishnu had cut off the body of Mata Sati into 51 pieces by Sudarshana Chakra and all these pieces fell at different places throughout the country.
Agartala:
Agartala city is the capital of Tripura. Ujjayanta Palace is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Tripura, is located in the city. The royal residence of the Manikya Kings of Tripura showcases huge Mughal style gardens, magnificent tile floor, beautiful ceilings and doors of curved wood. The city is also home to State Museum, Tribal Museum, a number of temples and Buddhist sites.
Neermahal:
Neermahal is also known as the ‘water palace’ is built in the middle of the Rudrasagar Lake. It was the summer palace of the Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya. The exterior and the garden have been renovated but the interior needs to be restored. The reflection of the domes and pavilions look marvelous in the lake.
Unakoti:
Unakoti is deservedly reputed for its 7th – 9th century AD stone and rock cut images, deep in the forests near Kailashahar. The carvings trace their origin in Hindu mythology. Green vegetation around adds to the charm of the place.
Kunjaban Palace:
Kunjaban Palace is one of the celebrated palaces that dots the landscape of the northeastern state of Tripura. Sited on a verdant hill known by its namesake Kunjaban, the palace is one of the many magnificent edifices constructed by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya. The palace is sited in a stunning landscape and owes its nomenclature to the bower that supports the luxuriant growth of foliage.
Ujjavanta Palace:
Ujjayanta Palace is a former royal palace situated in Agartala, the capital of the Indian state of Tripura, and currently serves as the meeting place of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. Ujjayanta Palace is a tourist attraction of Agartala.
Food items:
The people of Tripura are maintaining the traditional cuisine. Their choice is non-vegetarian food having fish as an integral part of their cuisine list. Most of the household serve genuine Bengali dishes. They take rice and fish mainly owing to the close proximity of West Bengal State. Their food includes all types of meats.
