Yeriappa – sweet appam Recipe
2 cups Rice
1 cup Fresh grated Coconut
1 cup Jaggery
1 tsp Cardamom Powder
A pinch Salt
Oil for deep fry
Yeriappa Preparation:
Wash and soak rice in water for about 2 hours. Grate fresh coconut and make jiggery powder. Take soaked rice after 2 hours and drain water from rice and blend the rice, coconut and jaggery in the mixer by adding cardamom powder to fine paste. Make thick batter by adding water.
In a deep kadai heat Oil, now take the batter with spoon and pour it into oil, repeat the process for 4-5 spoonfuls. After a minute turn the yeriappa and fry till golden brown in colour. Remove from oil and drain.
Yeriappam is ready to serve hot.
